Ãlex Hernández (born in Granada, España, 1976) is a self-taught writer who started on the craft before he can even remember. His first works came to the public attention through the theatre company Teatrófilos, which he founded in the year 2000.
Besides receiving various literary awards, in his always active career he hosted a radio show, published a collection of poems, designed websites, translated comic strips, taught writing through a podcast and composed various songs with his band Teatro Fantasma, in which he's lead singer.
More recently he was awarded the prestigious MartÃn Recuerda Award for the stage play "The Unfinished Masterpiece", recently published in a bilingual edition.
Company (2006) was his first short film. As a very personal zero-budget production, it became an intensive course in scriptwriting, direction, music composition and editing which would eventually receive awards in festivals from Granada to New York.
His latest works for the screen have been directed by Fidel MartÃnez, with whom he is currently co-writing the online series Mrs. Carrington. Current projects are in search of new collaborators to work on ideas for new films as well as -among others- illustrated children books and adult graphic novels, as Hernández continues to explore new horizons.
